A Few Words About
Our Studio
Founder, Design Director
Kevin Young
Kevin hails from a family of architects in Kingston Jamaica, and credits his Caribbean upbringing with opening his eyes to design. He learned there that Architecture, if infused with an awareness of its contextual setting, and a sense of responsibility to its society, acquires meaning and relevance. At its most successful, Architecture defines place and people.
His approach was honed with Architecture degrees from the University of Miami and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where his Master’s thesis explored the correlation between culture and form in the redesign of a grand urban public park in Kingston. He has practiced in leading firms in Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Miami, and Atlanta. He’s recently returned to academia as an adjunct lecturer of Architecture. An avid traveler always armed with sketchbook and camera, he enjoys discovering design in all corners of the world.
He is the author of a new book Drawn Journeys: Through The Eyes Of The Yard Architect, a collection of memorable drawings and sketches from his travels.
